As part of the Fourth Annual Hays Holocaust Remembrance & Education Month, historian Bedross Der Matossian presents a lecture titled “Denial of the Armenian Genocide on the Internet & Beyond.” This talk explores how digital media has amplified efforts to deny the Armenian Genocide and other twentieth-century genocides. It examines the role of governments, pseudo-historians, and activists in using online platforms to distort historical truth and influence public perception.

Dr. Der Matossian is the Hymen Rosenberg Professor in Judaic Studies and a specialist in Modern Middle East History at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. He is the author of multiple books, including Shattered Dreams of Revolution: From Liberty to Violence in the Late Ottoman Empire.
