The Armenian Genocide Museum of Canada (AGMC) is guided by a passionate and diverse board of directors committed to remembrance, education, and justice. Our leadership brings expertise from across disciplines to uphold the museum’s mission of preserving Armenian heritage, raising awareness about genocide, and confronting Armenophobia in all its forms.
Dr. Tamar Marie Boyadjian (she/her), Chair
Dr. Tamar Marie Boyadjian is the Chair of the Armenian Genocide Museum of Canada, and an award-winning author, translator, and medievalist who teaches Western Armenian at Stanford University. She was the first U.S.-born poet to publish a book in Western Armenian and is the first to author a fantasy series in the language. Her work spans endangered language preservation, Armenian Futurism, and feminist literary history, earning global recognition. A former Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the Society for Armenian Studies, she continues to shape the field through her writing, translation, and editorial leadership. Read Full Bio
Ani Boghikian-Kasparian, M.A., M.A.T., Vice-Chair
Ani Boghikian-Kasparian is the Vice-Chair of the Armenian Genocide Museum of Canada and a researcher, educator, and translator dedicated to Armenian Genocide education and cultural preservation. A key member of Michigan’s Armenian Genocide Education Committee, she helped secure the Genocide’s inclusion in school curricula. As President of the Houshamadyan Educational Association-USA, she supports the digital reconstruction of pre-Genocide Armenian life. She also taught Western Armenian at the University of Michigan-Dearborn and continues translating survivor testimonies to amplify Armenian voices. Read Full Bio

Shahen Karadjian, FSA, FCIA, Acting Treasurer
Shahen Karadjian is a an actuarial leader with extensive experience in financial risk management, insurance valuation, and regulatory compliance. As Director of Actuarial Services, Shahen oversees actuarial modelling, forecasting, and strategic analysis across various insurance lines. In his role as Acting Treasurer, Shahen brings his deep analytical expertise and financial oversight to support the fiscal governance of the organization. With a strong commitment to transparency and long-term sustainability, he plays a vital role in ensuring responsible stewardship of resources. Shahen holds designations as a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA). He is passionate about advancing professional standards in the actuarial field and contributing to organizations that create lasting social impact.
